Overview
While Privacy Lock is ON, a guest can block other Keys and PINs from opening the door — so as not to be disturbed — by engaging the physical switch on the back of the lock.
Supported Behavior
A guest can lock the room from the inside while still allowing staff to access it with the Master Code or a metal key for maintenance/emergencies — but not with a Key via the Portal Staff App while Privacy Lock is engaged.
If someone else tries to open the door with a PIN or Key while Privacy Lock is enabled, the attempt fails and the screen shows red. This shows up in the lock's audit/access log.
Note
Privacy Lock is one-time — it's automatically disabled once the room is unlocked from the inside, or opened with the Master Code/metal key by staff.
How to Enable the Privacy Lock Feature
The Privacy Switch toggle is managed from Lock Details > Lock Settings in the Portal Staff App (see Features & Settings).
Open the Portal Staff App and select the door.
Open Lock Details > Lock Settings.
Find Privacy Switch and toggle it ON.
Sync while standing close to the lock.
On the back panel of the lock, the physical switch engages with a beep when pressed down.
Note: Goki's Spaces App includes a debugging "About" screen for reading the lock's raw privacy/Wi-Fi state directly (Lock Options > About). This has not been confirmed to exist in the Portal Staff App. If the app and lock disagree on Privacy Switch state, the standard fix is: toggle OFF, sync, toggle back ON, sync again.
