A refreshed guide to register, assign, and bulk‑manage Goki tags/cards for Goki SmartLocks.

What changed? You can now connect a registered tag to multiple doors remotely and disconnect from all doors in one action. Remote actions require locks to be online.

Introduction

  • Goki tags (wristbands/cards) are an optional alternative to mobile keys—useful for housekeeping and emergencies.

  • Tags work with Goki SmartLocks and Smart Access (not Smart Discs).

  • MiFare and similar RFID cards may work.

  • Tags are passive RFID (no battery).

  • A single tag can be used across many SmartLocks and multiple properties (after registering in each property).

Prerequisites

  • Goki Spaces app access.

  • For remote assign/remove and bulk actions, ensure locks are online.

Register a Tag (first use)

  1. Open Spaces app → Goki Tags (or Add Devices → Connect Tag).

  2. Stay close to a Goki SmartLock and tap the lock so your phone detects it.

  3. Hold the tag to the SmartLock reader when prompted (you may be asked to tap several times).

  4. The tag appears in your Tags list and is ready to manage.

Multi‑property: After registering in Property A, switch accounts and repeat to register for Property B.

Assign a Tag to Doors

On‑site (Bluetooth, single door)

  • Goki Tags → select tag → ⋯ → Connect with Bluetooth → go to the door and present the tag.

Remote (requires locks online)

  • Goki Tags → select tag → ⋯ → Connect to multiple doors remotely → pick rooms and/or common areasConnect.

  • Results show per door (e.g., Connected, Failed—room offline). Retry failed doors after they come online.

You can also assign from Spaces → choose Room → ⋯ → Tags: pick a registered tag to connect remotely to that room.

Bulk Actions (new)

  • Add a registered tag to many doors at once: Goki Tags → select tag → ⋯ → Connect to doors → choose doors/common areas → Connect.

  • Disconnect a tag from all doors: Goki Tags → select tag → ⋯ → Disconnect from doors.

Note: The old limitation “tags cannot be added remotely in bulk” no longer applies.

Manage / Rename / Remove a Tag

  • Rename/Remove tag: in Goki Tags, use the next to the tag name.

  • Remove from specific rooms (remote): Goki Tags → select tag → swipe a connected room left to delete.

  • Delete tag from system: after removing from all rooms, choose Delete.

Offline Locks

  • Remote actions won’t work. Stand at the door and use ⋯ → Connect with Bluetooth (or remove via Bluetooth) to update the tag.

Expected Behavior & Messages

  • Connected successfully — door accepted the tag.

  • Failed — common cause: door offline.

  • Partial success — some doors connected; retry failed ones only.

Warnings & Best Practices

  • Tags are typically for staff/emergency access; avoid using them as primary guest keys.

  • If you reset a SmartLock, all tags assigned to that lock are unassigned.

  • Treat staff tags as credentials; remove access when a tag is lost or during offboarding.

  • FAQ:
Do Goki locks work with keycards and fobs?
The locks work with keycards and fobs. You can purchase any Mifare cards online - they'll work with Goki locks and can be encoded using the Spaces app.
