Overview
Smart Discs are referred to as Modules in Portal. When connecting them, always use the "Module" option — not "Module (Virtual)". Virtual Modules are for demo/testing purposes only and do not create real device connections.
Before you start
Important: Do not uninstall Smart Discs from Goki before migration. Our team can remotely migrate modules that are still installed in Goki. Modules already uninstalled from Goki cannot be migrated remotely and will require physical intervention.
Note: For now, these steps only work for properties that use Modules. If you are using another type of lock, like Smartlock Pro, Smart panels, Lockers, Smart lock old versions, and all types of Gateways, you need to uninstall each lock and the Gateway from Goki and install it to Portal via the Staff app
Migration steps
Keep modules installed in Goki
Leave all Smart Discs connected in Goki until our team confirms migration is complete. This allows the migration to happen remotely without physical access.Contact support to initiate migration
Reach out to our support team. We will review your setup in Portal and handle the migration from our side.Remove any Virtual Modules from Portal
If you accidentally connected any modules using "Module (Virtual)", disconnect and remove them. These do not represent real devices.Await confirmation from our team
We will notify you once all modules have been successfully migrated to Portal.
If modules were already uninstalled from Goki
If Smart Discs have already been uninstalled from Goki, remote migration is not possible. You will need to:
Physically open the lock.
Press the button on the module so it appears in the Goki Spaces app.
Reinstall it in Goki first, then contact support to proceed with migration.
To avoid disrupting operations, we recommend reinstalling in Goki first before requesting migration.
Common mistakes to avoid
Do not select "Module (Virtual)" when connecting real devices.
Do not uninstall modules from Goki before our team initiates the migration.
Do not attempt to manually reset all locks if you have a large number of doors — contact support instead.
